n8n integration for Buffer
n8n is an open-source workflow automation tool that connects Buffer to hundreds of services. Host it yourself for full control over your data, or use n8n Cloud. Either way, you get a powerful visual editor for building social media automation workflows.
Getting started
You'll need an n8n account (cloud or self-hosted) and your Buffer API key. Go to publish.buffer.com/settings/api and copy an existing API key or click + Generate API Key to create a new one.
- In n8n, open a workflow and add an MCP Client node
- Fill in the node: Server Transport — HTTP Streamable, MCP Endpoint URL — https://mcp.buffer.com/mcp, Authentication — Bearer Auth
- Click Credential for Bearer Auth, select Create new credential, paste your API key, and click Save
- Select the Buffer MCP tool you want the workflow to use and configure it as needed
