How to Post Your Tweets at a Better Time From the Top Twitter Clients – TweetCaster and Buffer Team Up

Sep 27, 2012 4 min readBuffer News

It’s finally here, one of the most requested things has gone live today: Buffer is now integrated with the biggest Android and iOS Twitter client TweetCaster.

Keeping your Buffer topped up with lots of awesome Tweets and retweets should be made easier than ever before. All you have to do is be browsing through your TweetCaster app on your Android or iPhone and add everything you find useful straight into your Buffer with a single click.

We’ve also looked into the other goodness that TweetCaster has to offer as an amazing app and hope you’ll find it interesting to give them a go. Here is how these two awesome apps work:

TweetCaster for Android – How to make the most of it

First up, is the biggest Android Twitter client out there, TweetCaster. It’s a gorgeous Twitter app, that comes packed with an awesome set of features for you.Whilst TweetCaster comes with all the known features you’d expect from a fully fledged Twitter client, it has some extras that have definitely put it on the home screen for me.

Advanced Twitter search to find everything you need

The one feature I like the best is TweetCaster’s search filter. It comes with the option to search your Tweets with a “smart filter”, which means you can only search for Tweets with only links, only images or only vides for example. Here is how this works:

Another option that Facebook has in place for years through the “hide” feature, is TweetCaster’s “Zip it” functionality. It allows you to easily mute anyone from your stream, if you feel you can do without their updates for a little while:

Speak your Tweets and add multiple accounts

Another feature that has definitely been a great innovation for my Android phone is the option to speak my Tweets and have them Tweeted or added to Buffer.  And it works extremely well, especially if you are like me and really bad in typing stuff into your keyboard:

Of course, TweetCaster also supports posting to multiple accounts along different customization options for each account. What I like best here is the super fast List support to keep track of all your Twitter lists from one place.

How to Buffer your Tweets with TweetCaster for Android

Coming brand new to Android’s largest Twitter client this week is native Buffer integrations so you can share your Tweets at the best times, well spaced out over the day.

Simply write any Tweet and then hit the Buffer button from the top right to send the update straight into your Buffer queue:

Especially combining it with the voice features, it’s very cool to Buffer spoken Tweets. I know, it’s getting a bit geeky now, but definitely makes me feel like I am talking into the future.

TweetCaster for iOS – top features and how to Buffer retweets and Tweets

Of course, we can’t just cater for the awesome Android crowd and TweetCaster for iOS comes with the same awesomeness including Buffer integration. First, let’s have a quick look around which great features the iOS client offers, most of which is of course similar to the above Android app.

Here the most power that TweetCaster offers comes through the composer window, which offers a huge number of features to customize your Tweet exactly the way you want it:

I especially also like how you can zip updates just like you can in the Android app. Another goodie here is that you can share any Tweet you see also to Facebook via TweetCaster’s Facebook integration.

How to Buffer your Retweets and Tweets with TweetCaster for iOS

Of course the iOS version also comes packed with an amazing Buffer integration, that lets you Buffer both retweets and any general Tweet that you want to add to your Buffer queue.

Whenever you find a Tweet that’s worth sharing, tap the retweet button and add it to your Buffer, just like you can with Buffer’s Twitter integration for the web. Here is how this looks like:

Of course, you can also Buffer any general Tweet right from Tweetcaster by hitting the drafts button and sending the Tweet to your Buffer account. Another reason this is powerful is that you can get awesome analytics on each of your posts if you send them through to Buffer first.

Here is how you can Buffer any update through TweetCaster:

This should make it easier than ever to keep your Buffer topped up and full at all times for you. Personally, I’ve found that I spend most of my time in Twitter clients on my iPhone and Android device, so making Buffering easier from there was a no-brainer for sure.

Over to you now. What do you think about the new Buffer integration with TweetCaster? Are there any other mobile apps that you would like to Buffer from? I’d love your thoughts on how Buffering could be made easier for you, let me know if the comments.
