Content Library is shutting down
Hope you’re having a great one today. I’m Super, a Product Manager at Buffer, and I want to share some news around the Content Library feature we have been building in beta.
We have decided to shut down the feature and turn it off on December 7. I’m so sorry if this messes with your workflow; we didn’t make this decision lightly, and I’d love to share the reasoning behind it. In order to minimize the hassle we’re causing you as much as possible, we have an option below that lets you export your entire library (across all profiles) with one click.
I can’t thank you enough on behalf of our whole team for the time and energy you all put into helping us test and refine this beta! If you’re interested, here’s a bit more on why we made this decision (Or, feel free to skip to the bottom to export your library).
We set out to build Content Library to solve a core problem we heard from many of you, that repeating evergreen content was an important part of your workflow, and it would be great if Buffer could tackle it. As we built this feature, we found what it could do for you all and had a big vision for what we could build it to be.
At the same time on a broader company level, we realized that one of the biggest ‘non-negotiables’ for us was a really high bar of quality. Whether it’s optimizing how you get things done in Buffer or preventing bugs from popping up, the quality and consistency of your experience is something we want to focus on obsessively. This, like anything else, has to come at a tradeoff. After considering many different options, the answer to how we were going to do that came from having to drop Content Library so we could use the amazing talent we had working on it to focus on things that were more core to what Buffer does today.
What this means is that we’ll be able to really step up the speed, quality and intuitiveness of Buffer for you, and it’s one of our top product priorities starting immediately.
We know that removing this feature will be disappointing for many of you. I hope with our new focus and ongoing input from you, we can continue building a product that helps you achieve your goals on social.
I can't thank you enough for the energy, encouragement and feedback we got - it really was a privilege to build this alongside all of you.
If you have any questions, concerns or thoughts, please do reply and let us know. We'd love to hear from you!
This export will include all your posts from all your Content Libraries as CSV files.
Content Library will be inaccessible after December 7.
