Two more Happiness Heroes join the Buffer team: Mary and Adam

I am thrilled to share that Mary Jantsch and Adam Farmer have both recently completed their Buffer Bootcamps and have accepted offers to come on board with us as official, full-time team members.

These two have made such a massive difference at Buffer that we can barely imagine life without them now. Here’s a bit of background on each.

Mary is from Spokane, Washington. (This means she spends most of her time on the West Coast, delighting Buffer customers.) She wowed us from the first email, both by demonstrating her captivating writing ability and also by creating a friendly and warm welcome video for Buffer users. She joins Buffer after getting a variety of experiences at BumbleBar, where she helped with Marketing, Social Media, PR and Design. In fact, she’s been a member of a graphic design club, too!

Mary has been making people happy by email and twitter since day 1, and even finalized the welcome video for Buffer customers which we are now testing as part of the sign-up process. She inspires us daily with her “do anything that needs doing, and crush it!” attitude. We’ve been a better, stronger team since she stepped on board.

Adam joins us from Pennsylvania, so he takes care of Buffer’s customers from the East Coast. He comes on board with some amazing customer service experience, having led a team and successfully iterated through some of the same challenges and goals that Buffer has in sight. He broke records for the fastest “ramp up” period in Buffer’s Hero history, diving straight in and always ensuring that folks who email and tweet feel comfortable and happy.

Adam also brings an awesome focus to Buffer’s value of Self Improvement, inspiring us all to read more, write more, and try different diets (like Paleo) to feel and sleep better over time. It’s especially fun to video-chat with Adam, because on any day you might just catch a glimpse of his two precious kids who could melt even the grinchiest of hearts.

If you’ve emailed or tweeted us in the last few months, you may have already gotten to know Mary and Adam, but if not, they look forward to serving you! Drop us a line anytime! :)

*A little about the Buffer bootcamp : Everyone who starts at Buffer is at first a contractor for 45 days. We see that time similar to a dating period. The reason for this is actually quite simple. It always felt a bit odd, for both sides, to make a full commitment after a few interviews for someone to start full-time. Instead, we felt it’s better that the company and the new person on the team both get to know each other quite a bit beforehand. During the Bootcamp period, we place a special focus on looking for culture fit and alignment with the Buffer values.
