Providing the best possible experience for our customers is core to our culture here at Buffer.

But since we launched earlier this year, our customers have consistently experienced confusion and some frustration around two things: our Twitter sign-in flow and inviting team members by using their personal Twitter handle.

We wanted to change that.

What we’re doing to improve the login experience

We’ve added support for email login (which will soon replace Twitter login). And we think there a few key things you’re gonna love about this change:

  • You can stay logged in for longer periods of time - When you login with your email we’ll remember you for up to 2 weeks, which means you’ll no longer have to authorize your Twitter account every time you login 😊

  • It’s much easier to invite new team members - Simply add your team member’s work email address to invite them to your account. No more asking for personal Twitter handles.

  • You can keep your work and personal accounts separate - We know, mixing work and personal can be a bit awkward 👎 With email sign-in you can use your work email address instead.

  • You can opt-in to email notifications - Another great thing about logging in with your work email is that you can also set up email notifications for new Twitter mentions, search results, and DMs.

What this means for you

Over the next month, we’ll be helping all customers get setup and fully transitioned to email login by September 16th.
